Great job, Rob! This is a super useful episode for me, as we’ve just been given a new modem/router combination box by the ISP (which can’t be replaced) and the range isn’t as good as our old D-LINK router. In the near future, I’m going to set it up as a repeater using this tip.
Thanks!

Comment on February 18, 2011 01:06 amAre there any other software packages that perform this function? This episode seemsed kind of like an infomercial because it only suggested one product.
Comment on February 26, 2011 06:57 pmYou could try Tomato Router here: http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato
As the episode was very involved, it was difficult to put in instructions for another piece of software. Perhaps we’ll do a Tomato episode as well.
Thanks for watching.

Comment on June 17, 2011 02:26 pmThank you for the video 🙂 I was hesitant to do the DD-WRT for my older 610N router. The tutorial was very will done and at a pace which i could follow. I was able to actually bridge two different routers I had to this one. My netgear 2.4gHZ chipset got fried and I had to use a Linksys WAP54G and my Netgear 5ghz channels. So now, my linksys 610n repeater serves both networks very well.
Comment on July 21, 2011 07:06 pmDid I leave something off? My Apple TV is on the wireless router and my ipad is on the repeater. The ipad can’t find the apple tv. The repeater works great with everything but that. If I change the ipad to the wireless router it can find the apple tv. Â
Comment on September 4, 2011 11:47 pm I would like to see how to set up a external hard drive for an FTP server for local and internet access located on a USB port on a Buffalo wireless router running DD-WRT.
